iPhone update

This post was written by on 23rd Jan 2008

Being in the mobile space we took the plunge and acquired an iphone back in November with the intention of seeing the future of mobile through the eyes of Steve Jobs.

I don’t need to harp on about its features and in some cases lack of them, however, yesterday I placed it in its shiny white docking station to receive a message saying that a newer version of the software was available and would I like to update now? I did, and hey presto 30 minutes later some of the lacking functionality has been cured, I can now send SMS to multiple recipients!

A software upgrade is nothing revolutionary but for the numerous years I’ve owned a mobile phone I’ve never received a software upgrade, I’ve just had to replace the handset when it became obsolete. So maybe the time is upon us where we buy one handset to last years rather than the length of a contract, where we don’t have to buy new handsets to obtain new features. So far I like the world through Apple’s eyes!
