Firstly, tell us how you’re using mobile in your service offering?

We wanted to provide alarm notifications to our CCTV customers upon an intrusion. Our high end Digital Video Recorders can send emails but not multimedia messages. We had this idea that when an alarm triggers our clients could instantly receive images from the break in. That means sending them to their mobile phone via MMS.

We have developed the system so that within 30 seconds of a break in a client will receive a message containing 3 images. Images are very powerful in helping you understand the nature of the intrusion, it’s a great valuable addition to pass on to our clients.

What lead you to choose mediaburst as your service provider?

We looked at other MMS and SMS gateway providers but mediaburst had a combination of things we were looking for. They were open to our ideas and understand how they would add value to our offering. The API was online, easy to understand, and came with great advice and support from the outset. A complete all round package, at a very very good price.

What’s the future for mobile with Kapture IT, will it creep into other areas of business?

Yes definitely, we are now looking to use mediaburst SMS facilities for marketing and customer contact, for confirming bookings and quotes. There are huge efficiency benefits to be had so we’re really trying to integrate mobile communication into our business.
