A standard message is up to 160 characters, including spaces.
To send long messages to a maximum of 459 characters, replace @sms.message-platform.com with @longsms.message-platform.com.

Yes, this is a mandatory requirement to send a message. You can have other details in the subject field, however the first word must be your password. If you are automatcially generating messages with the same subject each time and you want that to be your password we can set it for you.

If you are a Pay Monthly plan, we will allocate a unique virtual mobile number (also known as a long number) to your account which appears on the recipient’s handset when you send a message. This will enable them to reply and the inbound messages are forwarded onto your email address.

Enter the mobile number in the ‘To’ field followed by @sms.message-platform.com and put your password in the subject field. Write your message in the email body as normal.
Using this method, only the first 160 characters of the message will be sent.
As an option the message text can be enclosed between #STARTSMS# and #ENDSMS# tags, this can be used to prevent email signatures being sent with the SMS content.
When using these optional tags, the message between the STARTSMS and ENDSMS tags is not shortened, and so messages over 160 characters will be rejected.

The page you need to refer to is here

If sending to number@sms.message-platform.com without the tags #STARTSMS# and #ENDSMS#, then the message is truncated to 160 characters.

If sending to number@sms.message-platform.com with the tags #STARTSMS# and #ENDSMS#, then the whole message between these tags is attempted. This will fail if the message is over 160 characters.

To send concatenated messages up to 459 characters, you need to send to number@longsms.message-platform.com.

What happens if you send over 160 characters in the email to SMS protocol, does it deliver the whole message or will it only take the first 160?
