It sounds like the Outlook Mobile Service has been disabled in Outlook.
To check this, go to ‘Tools’ menu in Outlook, click ‘Trust Center’. Click Add-ins tab and check ‘Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service’ add-in. If it is in ‘Disabled Application Add-ins’ group, it has been disabled.
To change this, click ‘Go’ button, check ‘Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service’ and click ‘OK’. The service can’t work until ‘Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service’ goes to ‘Active Application Add-ins’.
If you cannot amend these settings, this is because you do not have administrator rights and we recommend you contact your IT department.

Hi David,

The number should have the country code 1st and the mobile number without the zero, for example a UK mobile number would be 447980123456
Make sure you don't include a + or any spaces as this may stop it from being sent.

Outlook Mobile Service is native functionality within Microsoft Outlook 2007 which allows you to send text messages directly from your e-mail. It is in no way linked to your mobile handset and therefore no configuration on your phone is required.
