Integrate text messaging with your CRM

Our simple SMS API, Clockwork can easily integrate with your apps or website to send automated text messages.

SMS is a brilliant way to engage with your customers and leads. Adding text messages to your automated campaigns means reaching 98% of your customers in under 5 seconds.

Your CRM software stores your customer’s details and creates personalised journeys for them. When a customer takes a certain action, you can ensure they receive a bespoke email, phone call or pop-up notification but are you including SMS in these journeys? If so let us quote for you, otherwise here’s some SMS integration ideas:

6 ways to use SMS with your CRM software

1. Send Notifications & Updates

64% of consumers think businesses should communicate with them more often using SMS. The speed and reliability of SMS means it’s the perfect tool for delivering time sensitive, secure information and notifications to customers.

Send quick updates and notifications when a case is edited or notify staff when a ticket is assigned to them.

2. Send Reminders

SMS reminders have been proven to reduce Did Not Attend rates drastically.

Send meeting, appointment and paperwork deadline reminders to customers and staff to save time, money and to improve efficiency within your business.

Hi Tom, just a quick reminder; we’ve got online training booked for you at 3pm today. Please let us know if you can no longer attend by replying NO to this message. Otherwise, chat soon. Thanks.

3. Allow for Call backs and Follow Ups

Use SMS to ensure you follow up missed calls quickly and make the process as easy as possible for your potential leads. Let customers request a call back at a convenient time by texting into your keyword or long number. You can also discuss business over SMS if the customer is too busy to take a call there and then.

Hi Dawn, thanks for requesting a call back at 2pm today. Sarah will be giving you a call to answer any of your questions. In the meantime, you can view a quick, fun online video of how we work here [link]. Thanks!

4. Use SMS Marketing

SMS marketing is one of the quickest, cheapest and most reliable ways of getting sales, promotions and other marketing material out to your customers. 45% of SMS campaigns are successful compared with only 6% of email campaigns, so it’s definitely worth giving it a try if you don’t already.

Hi Lucy, you recently bought a bikini from our range. We hope you had a great holiday and enjoyed your purchase! Now it’s time for winter, check out our winter warmer range [link]. We hope you love it as much as we do!

5. Build relationships

78% of people believe companies sending personalised communication are interested in building good relationships. You should always try to include names or other custom data where possible so the customer feels the text message has been sent to them personally.

Hi #FNAME#, are you still looking for a #CUSTOM? If so, give us a call on 0161 359 3100, we have a few we think you’d be interested in viewing! Hope to speak soon.

6. Hear back from your customers

Two-way communication is a must in any customer focused business and the quicker you respond to a customer, the higher the customer satisfaction.

All of our products allow replies by using either long numbers, free keywords in the UK on our shared shortcode or you can send SMS surveys and receive replies through our survey product, SurveyMill.

Keywords can be used to build your client database. When a customer texts your keyword into the shortcode, they’ll be added to a ‘Group’ which you can then use to send notifications and for marketing purposes.

Top Tip: Companies have been known to collect 5,000 numbers in 24 hours when offering a discount.
